Mt Buller
Mt Buller Alpine Resort is 250km north east of Melbourne and rises to an altitude of 1804m above sea level. The Resort embodies some of Victoria's most spectacular alpine and sub-alpine terrain. Open all year round, a fabulous destination for a Summer escape. It offers 263ha of ski trails as well as wide open spaces above the tree line, with the longest trail being 2.5km. Whether you're a beginner about to discover snowsports or an expert, you'll find the perfect spot to ski or board. Beginners Green Runs overlook the Mt Buller Village, and have Bourke Steet our most famous area. There is a variety of groomed Intermediate Blue Runs spread throughout the Resort slopes. The Advanced Black Runs are located on the south side of the ski area and include the popular Federation, Wood Run, Bull Run and Wombats bowls. Our snow season runs from the Queen's Birthday long weekend in June to early October. Our extensive snowmaking allows us to offer a generous ski guarantee.
Designated 2009 Ski Season Dates : 5/6/09 - 4/10/09. Lifts commence operation 6/6/09 conditions permitting.
Mt Buller boasts 24 lifts that can move 40,000 people per hour to provide access to 58 runs across the mountain. Whilst being renowned for its downhill slopes, there are 9km of cross-country trails that circle around the back of the Village. The trails are easy to access and offer spectacular views of Mt Stirling and the Bluff.
NEW FOR 2008 SEASON : Buller Ski Lifts is building Australia’s first high-speed, six-seat chairlift for the 2008 season. The $6 million Doppelmayr chair will replace the Abom Chairlift and will run from Helicopter Flat, near the Ski School, to the top of Baldy. The new lift is named the HOLDEN Chairlift and will be able to move 3200 skiers per hour and will make the 1100m trip in 3.7 minutes. As part of the upgrade, the Blue Bullet 2 and the Abom Triple Chairlifts will be decommissioned. Snowmaking on Bourke Street and Baldy will be upgraded to further enhance the visitor experience, with the support of the Alpine Resort Management Board. .

Snowmaking The snowmaking system on Mt Buller covers 74 hectares and gives mother nature a helping hand, when needed. Many popular runs have snow making coverage and Season 2007 saw Shakey Knees come on-line.
